What's Happening in 2013

Thank you once again for your tremendous support of your Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake.  We were able to help 957 families between January 1 and March 31, 2013!  These families represent 2706 individuals.  This was a 7% increase over our 2012 first quarter. 

 

In April, our number of clients served during the month decreased slightly. We are beginning to see some clients gain at least part time employment.  We have also seen a decrease in the number of adult children and grandchildren living with their parents.

 

Our number of clients normally peak during the month of July when so many children are still out of school for the summer.  It is a time when parents are beginning to spend money on getting the kids ready for school to begin in August and money can be tight.

 

Many seasonal residents are already North or are in the process of heading North, resulting in less food/cash donations.  Your help is even more critical during the summer.  We appreciate whatever you can do to help.

 

Items most needed right now are:

Pasta Sauce, Spaghetti Noodles, Cereal, Oatmeal and Peanut Butter.

Thanks For A Successful 2012

       We are very greatful to each of you who contributed to the pantry's success in 2012.  Thanks to you, we were able to help over 3900 families during the year, representing over 11,000 individuals!   November was our busiest month when we helped over 400 families!  During the holidays we presented over 700 families with turkeys or hams along with items needed to complete a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

        2013 has started off with a bang!  On January 2nd alone, over 47 families came to the pantry for assistance.   Unfortunately, things haven't improved for many.

         On Wednesday, January 16, 2013 we were once again blessed by Sweetbay in The Villages with 2040 Box Out Hunger Packages donated by patrons of the store.  Each box contains Oatmeal, Cereal, Rice, Green Beans, Chicken Noodle Soup, Mac & Cheese, Pasta, Pasta Sauce and Canned Chicken.  The value of this donation is $20,400!!!
